Dok Kachorn (ดอกขจร)

In Thailand, the clusters of flower buds from the climbing plant Telosma cordata are known as “Dok Kachorn” ( ). Not only the flowers and buds are used as food, but also young leaves and the roots.

The plant goes by numerous names: in English it is known as “Cowslip Creeper”, “Tonkin Creeper”, “Tonkin Jasmine” or “Fragrant Telosma”. In Vietnam it is called “Bông thiên lý”, in Cambodia “Phka Kachrot” (ផ្កាកាច្រត់) and in China “Yè Xiānghuā” (夜香花).
