In Thailand,
yellow bean paste, a seasoning paste made from fermented yellow soybeans, is called “Tao Jiaw” (เต้าเจี้ยว).
This is offered by various manufacturers with or without whole soybeans and also with additions such as mushrooms. My favorite is the one from the Pantai brand.
